COMFORT IN DISOMFORT

"Comfort in Discomfort" was an exhibition that I had designed and curated with the help of collaborators who created artwork and wrote on menstruation that addressed various stigmas and taboos. It was held on the occasion of International Women's Day, i.e., 8th March 2020. This exhibition aimed to showcase the different aspects of menstruation which usually causes discomfort. Through this, I aimed to help people who menstruate feel a level of comfort and be open to exploring more options in the menstrual industry that focuses on Sustainability.

STIGMA

As part of my master's degree in Graphic Design and Visualisation (Loughborough University), I had to pick one topic to work on, through the course year. I chose to research and design on Menstruation. My campaign name is 'Stigma' which provides the backbone for all different cultural stigmas that people who menstruate face daily. This stigma talks about not only menstruation in India, but also the preconceived notions that people may have for menstrual cups. Through this campaign, I want to provide a platform for people to access information and support; especially when someone decides to makes the switch to using menstrual cups.

I used photography and, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to edit and add graphic elements to each of the visuals to create the final output. In total, I came up with six concepts to be a part of the campaign.
